Compound document

Documents can be related to one another in a hierarchical parent-child relationship. You can define this relationship as follows: the component document, which also exists as a stand-alone entity, is part of the parent document (for example, where a circuit diagram is also used in a maintenance manual).
Compound document relationships enable you to create document trees, and provide traceability on document references.
Can be known as a folder if separately identified versus a contextual grouping.
